A French mutual insurance leader leverages emerging technologies to go digital

Challenges

A french mutual insurance leader wanted to understand new trends on insurtech and gain deep insights on modern China and the way of life of the Asian consumer. The company also wanted to explore how to leverage emerging technologies to go digital without compromising the customer experience.

Methodology

We facilitated a week-long learning expedition and ethnographic study for the innovation team in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Singapore to meet with leading insurance players, social impact and foodtech innovators, as well as an immersive homestay to understand the cultural lives of Asians.  

Outcomes

Our client gave us a 9/10 grade

  • Gained an insider local perspective on the main trends of insurance in China and how locals consume insurance
  • Identified new behaviours and innovative use cases in the insurance market
